Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent way to enhance the length, curl, and thickness of your lashes. The lash extensions are applied one by one to your natural lashes with a safe, medical-grade adhesive.

Lash Lifts

A lash lift is a treatment that lifts and curls your natural lashes. The treatment uses a lifting solution and setting lotion to shape your lashes. It lasts 6-8 weeks and gives you the appearance of longer, fuller lashes.

Eyebrow or Eyelash Tinting

A lash tint is a dye that colors your lashes. It’s great for people with lighter lashes who want more definition. It is also a good option for people who are sensitive to makeup. More clients combine the lash lift and lash tint into one appointment.

Brow Lamination

"Brow lamination involves straightening and lifting the hairs using a chemical solution, which allows the hairs to have more flexibility to move them into your desired shape, therefore covering any gaps or stray areas," my therapist Thea explains.

After your natural brow hairs are straightened, a fixing solution is applied to keep the hairs straight, as well as a tint if desired. The result is fuller-looking brows that stay in place when brushed into shape, lasting around six weeks.

Microblading (Phibrows)

'Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture. It is all about creating the best shape for each face – a totally bespoke approach for each client,' explains Jalaf.

'The process is very precise thanks to the tool that is used which is effectively like a pen with the nib being a sloped blade with 10-12 little needles at the end - needles that don’t penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a paper cut.

'The needle very finely implants featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer for the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes.'

Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, cosmetic tattooing, and Intradermal Pigmentation, is a revolutionary cosmetic technique which involves the use of a pen containing iron oxide to have a permanent pigmentation of the dermis. It is achieved by inserting colored natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. The procedure uses a very fine needle that makes hundreds of tiny perforations per minute. It produces articulate designs that resemble makeup which is commonly done on lips, eyelids, and eyebrows.

Each procedure takes between 30 to 120 minutes depending on its complexity. Qualified technicians use an anesthetic to numb the area being tattooed. At first, the color will appear brighter or darker, but over time, it will fade. The area will be swollen within 2-5 days and crust will form before healing just like a normal tattoo.

Eyebrow Threading

The Benefits of Brow Threading

As opposed to waxing, tweezing, or lasers, threading is considered one of the safest and most precise methods of hair removal, especially in the delicate areas surrounding the eye. "Threading allows our specialists to have greater control over which hairs are removed," says Tummala. The technique is also "100 percent natural," which means there are no artificial waxes, chemicals, or invasive techniques used during the procedure.

AFTERCARE

Eyelash extensions

To keep your lash extensions looking their best, it is extremely important to show them a little love and care!  Hence, do not ignore the aftercare tips given below!

  • Do not get your eye lashes wet for up to 48 hours after application.

  • Do not touch, pull or rub your eyelash extensions.

  • Avoid swimming, steam rooms and saunas for at least 48 hours.

  • Avoid using eyelash curler.

  • Clean your lashes every day with a gentle foam cleanser.

  • Avoid using cotton on your lash extensions.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face as this will create stress on the extension as well as cause them to fall out sooner.

  • Do not forget to brush your eyelashes every day.

  • Avoid using oil-based products around or on your eyes as they will loosen the extension’s glue bond.

Lash lift

Nine simple rules for Long-Lasting Lashes

  • Rule #1: Take extra care during the first 24 hours

  • Rule #2: Don’t use an eyelash curler

  • Rule #3: Skip eye products containing oil

  • Rule #4: Don’t wear waterproof mascara

  • Rule #5: Groom your lashes daily

  • Rule #6: Condition your lashes

  • Rule #7: Treat your lashes gently

  • Rule #8: Wait long enough between appointments

  • Rule #9: Avoid extreme heat

Brow lamination

For the first 24 hours after your treatment, it's important to keep your brows completely dry and avoid touching them. After that, Thea advised me to keep the area moisturized using oil or cream.

Microblading

  • When showering, keep your face away from the shower head.

  • Do not soak the treated area in the bath, pool or hot tub. Refrain from swimming in salt water or a chlorinated pool until fully healed (30 days). No saunas or hot yoga for 30 days.

  • When exercising, wear a sweatband to avoid sweat on brow area. No exercise for 7 -10 days.

  • Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight. After healing (30 days), use sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.

  • Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days following your microblading procedure. Do not pick at the brows. The flakes must fall off on their own or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.

  • Avoid touching your brows and be mindful of sleeping on your back until your brows have healed.

  • No makeup should be applied directly on the brows during the healing process.

  • If your eyebrows get wet during the healing process, pat them dry with a towel, DO NOT RUB.

  • If you are having an MRI scan, please inform your doctor that you have had microblading/semi-permanent makeup done.

  • If you are planning a chemical peel, or any other medical procedure, please inform your therapist of the procedure you have had. This type of procedure should only be done once the healing process from microblading is complete.

  • If you are due to give blood after the procedure, please inform your nurse about the microblading treatment you have had as this might alter the results.
